I got my firearms licence in 2015 and my NSW R licence not long after that. With no access to private property and no one to show me how to hunt, I ventured out from Wollongong into 2 state forests – Bago and Gurnang. Both forests were over 3 hours drive. When I got there – I had no idea where to look and what signs to look for. Both trips were a bust.
I soon moved to Eden – surrounded by state forest – all within an hours drive; East Boyd, Nullica, Nadgee, Timbillica, Yambulla, Glenbog, Tantawangalo, Cathcart, Coolangubra, Nalbaugh and Bond State Forest.
I was out hunting twice a week – early mornings hunts and back home before I had to take the kids to school and get to work, sneaky afternoon hunts after the kids got home and the all day trips on the weekends.
I have covered ALOT of ground and gained alot of experience. When I started I had no idea what to do. This website is about sharing tips and how to find locations.
